  1. Goals for the Series • Wake up to the God dream inside of us. • Develop a life mission statement. (Shift from the self-directed life path to the God-directed life purpose.) • Commit to fully invest in your God-directed life mission.

  2. Genesis 28:10-19 Jacob left Beer-sheba and went toward Haran. He came to a certain place and stayed there for the night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place.

  3. And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven; and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And the Lord stood beside him and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac;

  4. the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring; and your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring. 

  5. Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place—and I did not know it!” 

  6. And he was afraid, and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is theput under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. He called that place Bethel; but the name of the city was Luz at the first. gate of heaven.” 

  7. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

  8. God has a God-sized • mission for my life!

  9. 1. When I discover the God-sized mission for my life, it will honor God!

  10. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17 (NLT)

  11. 2. When I discover the God-sized mission for my life, it will bless people!

  12. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT)

  14. 3. When I discover the God-sized mission for my life, it will bring me joy!

  15. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT)

  16. The Greek word for enthusiastically is “perisyoo,” which means, to abound.

  17. Henri Nouwen’s Shift Demonstrates a Life that is . . . Not about Success, but about Service. Not about chasing the Money, But about chasing the Mission!
