Senior English 1/18/11 • What do you imagine you will be doing next year when you don’t have to go to school anymore? • What kind of tree can you find in a kitchen? • Pseudosmia – having a false smell perception. Goals - Analyze the difference between definitions for a general and a specialized audience. Revise defintions. Homework – Complete revisions on your definitions.

  2. Senior English 1/19/11 • Write about your mental state this morning, how are you feeling? • Where do sheep go to get a haircut? • Geromorphism – looking older thatn one’s age. Goals –Understand the need for expanded definitions. Better understand how your audience can dictate the information in your message. Homework – Finish any practice or notes that were not completed in class, p. 42-44.

Explain your reasons. • How do you spell composition with two letters? • Horripulation – shuddering sensation; as when your hair stands on end or; goose bumps. Goals –Focus on writing clear sentences and how easy it is to be unclear. Homework – Finish any work that was not completed in class today. Don’t forget to study for Vocabulary #19 quiz tomorrow.

  4. Senior English 1/21/11 • Five minutes to study for vocabulary quiz # 19. • Can an elephant jump higher than a lamp post? • Codswallop- nonsense. Goals - Complete vocabulary #19. Try to figure out problem sentences by looking at examples. Homework – none.
