PRODUCT INFORMATION PRODUCT INFORMATION Product Overview Product Overview Mouse anti-bacteria flavobacterium columnare monoclonal antibody. Flavobacterium Columnare IgG fraction obtained by immunizing mice with a Chilean isolate of Flavobacterium columnare (whole bacterial cells). The IgG fraction was purified using Protein G-Sepharose. Antigen Description Antigen Description F.columnare is a yellow-pigmented filamentous Gram-negative bacterium and the causative agent of Columnaris disease, one of the most important bacterial diseases of freshwater fish. Columnaris disease is characterized as an acute to chronic infection of the gills, oropharynx, and skin with a high level of mortality (50 - 90%) in salmonid and non-salmonid species. BACKGROUND BACKGROUND Introduction Introduction Flavobacterium columnare is a thin Gram-negative rod bacterium of the genus Flavobacterium. The name derives from the way in which the organism grows in rhizoid columnar formations. F. columnare is one of the oldest known diseases among warm water fish, and manifests itself as an infection commonly known as Columnaris. Infections are the second leading cause of mortality in pond raised catfish in the southeastern United States. 45-1 Ramsey Road, Shirley, NY 11967, USA Email: info@creative-diagnostics.com Tel: 1-631-624-4882 Fax: 1-631-938-8221 1 © Creative Diagnostics All Rights Reserved
