  9. What organisers said about PB “Transformative” “The community itself making a decision, how people are empowered to fulfil their dreams and aspirations with regard to projects that really need to happen in a community.” “Putting back the control into people’s hands about a decision making process – very much a democratic process”

  10. Practice a PB process 1 You are part of a Steering Group for a PB Project which will give out £2,000 in your community. Please set the criteria for bidding into the PB Process. • Hint – the Steering Group should not take decisions about the suitability of the bids. Criteria could include location of the project, status of the bidding organisation e.g. do they need to be a charity, whether the application form is complete • Hint – how much can any one project bid for, consider a maximum and minimum bid

  11. Practice a PB process 2 Please plan a decision making event and voting process • Hint – who can vote? Think about where someone lives or works and age – can children vote? • Hint – how many votes does each person have?

  12. Practice a PB process 3 You have received 7 bids – see handout. Do all of the bids meet your criteria? If no, please explain why not.
