  6. 40th Day Data in STARS • Only report students “eligible and riding” (22-8-9 NMSA 1978) on 40th day

  7. 40th Day Data in STARS • Category A - All regular Ed students in grades K-12 receiving “regular to and from” or “continuing education” transportation services, not including K-12 special education students requiring an accommodation or special service.

  8. 40th Day Data in STARS • Category A - All 3Y/4Y special education students not requiring an accommodation or special service. A student counted in Category A cannot be counted in Category B. These students are identified in STARS with a program code of “BUS” for “regular to and from” and BSCE for “Continuing Education”

  9. 40th Day Data in STARS • Category B – All students with disabilities in grades K-12 or 3Y/4Y who are receiving transportation services.  The student must have an IEP requiring an accommodation or special service (wheel chair, aide on the bus, car seat, etc).  These students are identified in STARS with a program code of “BUSA”. Students counted in Category B cannot be counted in Category A.

  10. 40th Day Data in STARS • Category A plus Category B should equal the total number of students reported in STARS under program codes BUS, BSCE and BUSA. (Category A + Category B = BUS + BSCE + BUSA.)

  11. Revision Dates • Corrections in STARS or the reprinting of the certification form be submitted by Wednesday, November 13, 2013 • Missing several certification forms • Required to be submitted by all school districts and charter schools

  12. 80th Day Reports • Pursuant to 22-8-29 NMSA 1978, school districts and charter schools shall report the number of students transported on the 40th day of school and adjusted for special education on December 1st

  13. Future STARS Data All transportation data will be collected using STARS Make sure your vendor will support the creation and export of the required STARS transportation templates Access database will not be used
