  2. Il Partitivo • Used to indicate a part of a whole or an undetermined quantity or number. • In English, it translates as some or any • In Italian, it is expressed as the contraction of di and the definite article

  6. Alcuni • ALWAYS followed by a plural noun • Only used when you want to say a few • Ex – • Alcuni amici • Alcune bottiglie • Alcuni ristoranti

  7. Qualche • ALWAYS followed by a singular adjective • Only used when you want to say “a few” • Used interchangeably with alcuni • Ex – • Qualche amico. • Qualche bottiglia. • Qualche ristorante.

  8. Un po’ di • Only used with nouns that designate substances that can be measured but not counted, like: pane, latte, carne, caffè, minestra • Only used when “some” means “a little bit of” • Ex – • Desidero un po’ di latte. • Manio un po’ di pollo.
