It amazes me with each new design that I do what can be created from a simple sheet of metal and some basic tools. The artist breathes life into a boring sheet of metal. It starts its incredible journey from sheet to become these Copper Earrings. This is a keepsake to be handed down. The Process: It all started with 2 sheets of copper about 2″ x 2″. I take what is sharp raising the hammer and textures the entire sheet. The sheet will warp from the metal movement. I will have to constantly flatten the sheet in order to continue texturing the piece. Now that it is the texture I heat it to a red glow to soften

3. the metal. I cut a 1 1/4″ round disc. I drill a small hole for the pendant jump ring. Once I am satisfied with the finish I then let it tumble for 12 hours to help work hard and burnish the shine further. The brightness of my copper may not come across as clear in the photos as they are in your hand. I have spent much time perfecting my own technique for finishing. I then seal it with a special lacquer coating used for outdoor sculpture work. If at any time the lacquer fails just simply contact me and send it back I will recoat for free. The ear wire is made from Niobium which is a hypoallergenic material that is great to use in jewelry designs because it is safe for anyone to wear, especially those with metal allergies.
