Motion detection cameras and their security

Now we find ourselves at the age of information and machine learning seems to be all the buzz in the tech world. Machine learning has been integrated into cameras as well such that they can detect motion and provide the best security in class. Such cameras have been termed as motion detection cameras. A motion detection camera uses certain mathematical models to translate a moving set of pixels (as captured by a camera) into what we humans define as a u201cmotionu201d. It seems like an easy job, but the processes running in the background of this device may seem wacky to an average Joe. Motion detection cameras need to be trained with a dataset so that they can recognize the patterns in motion.

  1. Motion detection cameras and their security Humans have come a long way in terms of technology. From the creation of the wheel to the invention of the computer, now we find ourselves immersed in tech which we couldn’t have imagined, even a decade ago. With the advent of technology comes the prospect of security. This matter (the matter of security) is looked closely upon, especially by the government. So how to keep track of so many people all around the world, in a systematic way, and more importantly, how to do it without making anyone feel like their privacy is at stake? Surprisingly, motion detection cameras work great in this scenario. The concept of cameras is old, but the concept of video cameras? Not so much. George Eastman first sold his “Kodak” camera as the first photographic film camera in and around 1888. As the camera evolved and transformed into what we call as a CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) camera these days, the software residing inside the camera’s hardware increased multifold as well. A motion detection camera uses certain mathematical models to translate a moving set of pixels (as captured by a camera) into what we humans define as a “motion”. It seems like an easy job, but the processes running in the background of this device may seem wacky to an average Joe. Motion detection cameras need to be trained with a dataset so that they can recognize the patterns in motion. Later, they are also trained with another testing dataset so that they correctly predict a motion. These cameras prove to be an asset to any individual/organization who wishes to keep track of people and their whereabouts. The motion detection cameras are also fruitful in detecting accidents at highways , over speeding of a vehicle or can be even used as a safety device. These cameras offer the best security as well as they come in small form factors, hence making them highly conspicuous, have high quality recording capabilities, thereby making the image captured of greater clarity, and are significantly easy to use thanks to good documentation and intuitive design. Some of them are even offered at pretty decent price which makes them a good choice for someone who simply wants a simple,motion detection camera for their personal use. The cameras have also been modified such that they can capture, according to the requirements of the user, 90 or 180 or 360 degrees of view with the click of a button. Technology has truly been a marvel which will keep on evolving as time goes on. We’re blessed to live in these amazing times of our life.
