  4. Causes of Dehydration • Fever • Sweating • Hot climate • contaminated water • No access to water • Vomiting • Loss of appetite • Not drinking enough water • Acute diarrhea • Upset stomach • Food poisoning • Cholera • Diabetes • Disease of the Kidneys

  5. Signs and Symptoms LATE SIGNS Moderate – 10% EARLY SIGNS Mild -5% Shrunken “soft spot” • Thirst • Dry Mouth • Less Urine • Weight Loss Sunken eyes/tearless Rapid deep breathing Loss of skin elasticity SEVERE – 15% Rapid weak pulse Discoloration of skin Cold limbs STOP IT HERE
