Methodological Backdrop : Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) The MDGs: • Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger • Achieve universal primary education • Promote gender equality and empower women • Reduce child mortality • Improve Maternal Health • Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases • Ensure environmental sustainability • Develop a global partnership for development What are MDGs? Most widely accepted yardstick of development efforts by Governments, Donors and NGOs containing a set of (eight goals) numerical and time – bound targets (to be achieved by 2015) related to key achievements in human development Drawn from the Millennium Declaration adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000

How to Read the Maps? • Each Assembly Constituency given ranking according to its performance in particular indicator. • Descending Order ~ Lower rank assumes priority and concern ~ Higher rank indicates a sign of relief {Rank 10 is more habitations to cover and Rank 50 lesser habitations to cover } • The Figure below the Assembly Constituency’s name represents actual data of the indicator concerned Greens are BEST – Light Green GOODand Dark Green BEST Browns are WORST– Light Brown BADand Dark Brown WORST Please Note: • Planning department has attempted to capture the pace of development at Assembly Constituency level basing on certain indicators in the back drop of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) • Information at Assembly Constituency level obtained from the District Collectors and needs further updation and reconciliation • Quality data are lacking on some important indicators like dropout rate, IMR etc. at Assembly Constituency level, that underlines the necessity to build data base at disaggregated level

Status of Kadiri, Rayadurg and Kalyandurg constituencies is alarming
