  3. Lesson Learned • Patrol Commander (PATCOM) • Problem • When PATCOM secured from surge operations the other agencies wanted to know what was their tasking for that division being patrolled at night. • Solution • Will remain on scene during the duration of all marine events. 3

  4. Lesson Learned • Food • Problem • . Food was only provided prior to the fireworks display and not after the Parade of Sail where assets were on the water longer than expected. Solution • Will provide food for assets for the duration of a marine event that requires a food unit to be established within LOG. 4

Best Practice • Continual use of the Planning P • Kept Command on track for accomplishing major objectives and development of the IAP. • Process was also used during the Planning of Jamestown 400th Anniversary Celebration. • Development of the IAP • Provided key tasking for assets and enhanced communication and collaboration among participating agencies. • Supporting information for the marine event • Vital part to the overall success of the planning and execution of the event. • Sector will continue to create an IAP of all special marine events.

  6. Best Practice • Created Vessel Safety and Security Task Force • Established a continuous point of contact for the event sponsors that could address concerns related to regulations and compliance by the vessels attending the event.
