  1. Configure HYSPLIT to automatically run 27 trajectories in an ensemble fashion (shifting the meteorology grid) from the chosen starting location. Example 6Trajectory Ensemble Z Y X

  2. Run a trajectory ensemble with NAMF40 forecast data from the Workshop archive. Choose the Ensemble option and then click Next

  3. Choose Source Location Enter a starting location at: 40N and 85W

  4. Trajectory direction: Backward Start time: 0000 UTC on 12/23/2005 Starting height: 750 m AGL

  5. Submit the job and view the results

  6. The resulting plot (right) shows that 3 different paths are possible depending on the selected location in X, Y, and Z. This method gives the user a sense of the sensitivity of the chosen starting location within the meteorological grid as well as an "envelope" of the uncertainty about the single trajectory result.
