  2. OneStar improves the lives of Texans by increasing civic engagement, rigorous research, evaluation and organizational excellence.

  3. We PROMOTE the nonprofit sector. We encourage state agencies, nonprofits, universities, corporations and foundation to become informed and engaged partners in the effort to bring about systemic change in the nonprofit sector. We ANALYZE the nonprofit sector. We collaborate with leading researchers to study and disseminate nonprofit statistics and trends to build the knowledge base of the sector. We help organizations determine their capacity, understand metrics that affect their performance and strategize on improvements for greater results. We STRENGTHEN the nonprofit sector. We provide nonprofits across the state access to high quality learning opportunities and grants related to leadership development, nonprofit business practices, social impact, social innovation and more. We ENCOURAGE SERVICE in the nonprofit sector. We work with leaders in various sectors to ensure that service and volunteerism are integrated as viable and serious strategies for addressing needs of our state.

Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships • Created in January 2004 by Denver Mayor Hickenlooper to serve as a liaison between the City of Denver and the nonprofit sector.  • Mission: DOSP serves as a catalyst to leverage the best of Denver’s public and nonprofit sectors to engage in innovative and collaborative work. • Modeled after best practices in other cities and now serves as a model • 5 staff, 15 Member Commission

  6. Center for Philanthropic Partnerships • Established with WK Kellogg Foundation support • Partner with the New Mexico Children’s Cabinet • Chaired by Lt. Governor Diane Denish • 1 of only 6 Children’s Cabinets signed into state law • 25 members including 14 State Cabinet Secretaries • Focused on children from birth to 21 years of age • Goal – every child and young person in our state will be healthy, educated, safe, supported and involved. • Albuquerque Community Foundation serves as fiscal sponsor and home

CPP Vision, Mission, Goals • Vision – All children and families in New Mexico have access to opportunity to achieve their goals, regardless of their place of birth or circumstance • Mission – to support innovative, sustainable, cost-effective solutions to social problems through building vital partnerships across philanthropy, non-profit, government, private and civic leadership • Goals • Facilitate and advance cross-sector, integrative initiatives • Maximize impact by partnering with government and business • Support data-driven best practice models • Attract new national grants and federal funds to New Mexico • Scale change by leveraging and blending capital

Landing on MaRS • MaRS Discovery District (www.marsdd.com) is a convergence innovation centre located in the heart of Toronto. • MaRS is dedicated to building Canada’s next generation of companies to maximize the economic and social impact of Canadian innovation.   • MaRS works closely with entrepreneurs to grow and scale their ventures into global market leaders.

Social Innovation Generation @ MaRS • SiG is a national collaboration between four partners • SiG@MaRS supports the launch and growth of social ventures through Advisory Services • We conveneunusual stakeholders and bring global leaders to Ontario to share and explore best practices • We accelerate social innovation through research, education and enabling infrastructure such as social finance and social tech
