Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5. does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6. does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8. Love never fails.

  5. Definition of Kindness Greek = to be kind, loving merciful, good, gracious Websters = of a sympathetic nature = friendly, of a forbearing nature; gentle, of a pleasant nature; agreeable, stressing a disposition to be helpful, affectionate, loving

  6. Definition of Kindness Kindness is goodness in action. Kindness is the active part of Love. Patience is more a passive part of love. Patience = I’ll take anything from my enemies Kindness = I’ll give anything to my enemies “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”

  7. Examples of Kindness Abraham and Lot Gen.13:7-8 “Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.” Lot was selfish and greedy. Abraham could have said “I’m more important” Love is Kind !

  9. Examples of Kindness Paul received Kindness 2 Tim. 1:16-18 “The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:” Onesiphorus showed kindness to Paul while Paul was in prison.

  10. Kindness in Action Kindness in their speech Pro. 31:26 “In her tongue is the law of kindness.” An old woman was asked why she had so many friends. “I suppose it is because I taste my words before I speak them.” “To speak kindly does not hurt the tongue.”

  11. Kindness in Action Should be found in our thoughts Kindness to Family - Friends - Brethren “Do a good deed every day” “…went about doing good.” Acts 10:38 “Love will cover a multitude of sins” 1 Pet.4:8

  12. What will Kindness Do for us ? Make us more like our heavenly Father Luke 6:34-35 “for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.” Happiness will Increase Happiness is a by-product of making others happy. Ephesians 4:32 NKJV “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.”
