  3. Education and Outreach Group Mission • In EOG we Inform and Educate with the purpose to Involve individuals on air quality and other environmental issues, and to enable them to effectively participate in the development and implementation of Agency programs and initiatives.

  4. Education and Outreach Group Core Responsibilities • Develop and disseminate technical and non-technical air pollution control training and outreach products for diverse audiences to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the Air Regulations and Programs.

  5. Education and Outreach Group Core Responsibilities Cont. • Work with national/regional organizations to determine training needs and to coordinate the delivery of technical air pollution control training targeted to States, Locals, and Tribes.

  6. Education and Outreach Group Core Responsibilities Cont. •  Maintain an infrastructure for the development and dissemination of training and outreach products that adapts and evolves to effectively meet the needs of a variety of audiences.

FY04 Activities APDLN Programming cont. • Stage 1 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproduct Rule Training – May 18 -EPA Office of Water • Air Toxics Now – July edition • 8-hr Ozone Standard – 2 day broadcast includes some modeling – summer • Healthy Home (ALA initiative) – addition to the Green Building Series – summer • Paper and other web coatings -summer

FY04 Activities Support EOG/APTI/APDLN infrastructure • Revamped EOG website –released April 2 • Deployment of Site Coordinator Database • Network Migration – satellite operational March • Re-competition of Course Development and Video Production Contract • Re-competition of BPA for the transmission via satellite of APDLN programs

  19. FY04 Activities Support EOG/APTI/APDLN infrastructure • Initiate planning with Grant Administration Division for the Competition of Training Grants (2nd year of 5 yr grants) • Set up Video Production studio at EPA-RTP facility

FY05 Activities • Revamping of APTI materials • Collaboration with JTC providers’ on course development activities • Seeking Input on selecting two existing APTI 400/300 level to broadcast on FY05 • Seeking input on two candidates for on-line courses • Initiated planning of a 3-yr Ambient Air Monitoring Training Strategy – first products scheduled for FY05
