  18. Lawyers for the people The NPA Strategy 2020 offers a world class vision of ensuring that justice will be attained in society so that people can live in freedom and security. It spells out a plan that will create the kind of prosecution service that will make all South Africans proud. The attainment of this vision will be reflected by a society of high civic morality, thriving on economic and social development which is bolstered and supported by a reduction in crime and high confidence in its criminal justice system. A future in which the NPA will not only be a provider of prosecution services, but one where it fulfils its role in building South Africa, by being an advocate for justice, taking hands with various stakeholders in being a ‘lawyer for the people’. 18
