  1. Institute Enrollment Progress Instructions for Bishoprics and Executive Secretaries June 2012 (For MLS 3.4 and above)

Enrollment in Institute “The Bishopric oversees the enrollment of those who are eligible for seminary and institute.” (See Handbook I: Stake Presidents and Bishops; 11.1.4) —2010). “Weekday gospel study classes can help young single adults strengthen their faith and testimonies. All young single adults should be encouraged to attend institute classes, whether they are attending school or not.” (Letter from the First Presidency dated April 21, 2011)

  3. Enrollment in Institute “Seminary and institute personnel are authorized to request appropriate information about potential seminary and institute students from ward records. Seminary and institute representatives provide priesthood leaders with regular enrollment information and attendance reports.” (See Handbook I: Stake Presidents and Bishops; 11.1.4) —2010).

  4. Sign into MLS Sign in Click “Seminaries and Institutes” Click, “Institute Enrollment Progress”

  5. To assist you in the Institute Enrollment process print the worksheet provided

  6. This worksheet is used by stake and ward leaders to counsel together to help young single adults enroll in institute and to report on those efforts. • Three months before the beginning of the post-secondary school year this worksheet should be printed. • Ward leaders discuss those individuals on the list and make assignments for inviting each young single adult to enroll in institute. • One month before the beginning of the post-secondary school year: • Enter the individuals location or school information into MLS • Provide a copy of this worksheet to the stake leadership. • Provide a copy of this worksheet to the institute representative.

  7. From the information gathered on the worksheet, enter the institute location or school attending for each young single adult. Click the magnifying glass icon, choose the location or school from the drop-down list, and click OK. If the institution is not on the list, click Add and add the needed information. Save
