  4. Conclusions • The spike in trucks registered in the ’90s was due to SUVs’ classification as trucks • Automobiles/passenger cars travel the most vehicle- and passenger-miles (per capita as well) • Energy intensity of vehicles (Btu/VMT) has been in a small downtrend since the ’60s
