Olympics Example • The following describes a simplified version of the organization of Olympic facilities planned for the summer Olympics. • Draw an EER diagram that shows the entity types, attributes, relationships and specializations for this application. State any assumptions you make. • The Olympic events will be held in various Sport Centers. Sports centers are divided into one-sport and multi-sport types. Each complex has an address, and the number of sports that will be held there. One-sport centers have a maximum seating capacity, and multi-sport centers have a listing of areas for different sports. • A complex has a location, chief organizing person, total occupied area etc. Each complex holds a series of events. For each event, there is a planned date, duration, number of participants, number of officials. • A list of all officials will be maintained together with the list of events each official will be involved in. The officials name, registration number and Start Date will be kept. • Different equipment is needed, some for the events, some for maintenance. It is important to keep track of which equipment is used for each event, and at which complex the maintenance equipment is used.
