Moving Up in Guided Reading • Summary of Word Work and Writing Activities for each level A-J • Pre A - consonants, letter sorts, interactive writing • A - consonants, make sight words, exchange initial consonants, elkonin boxes, dictated sentence • B - make sight words, exchange final consonants, elkonin boxes (2 short vowel-consonant), dictated sentence or open-ended • C - vowels, make sight words exchange first and last letters (3 boxes, cvc), dictated sentence or open-ended • D- digraphs, exchange first, medial, final letters, add and delete endings, elkonin boxes (3 boxes include digraphs), dictated sentence or open-ended including endings
