Before School Attendance • Program Hours: 7:00am to 8:30 AM • Attendance is required every school day. • Arrive by 7:30 am at the latest. • Students with inconsistent attendance will be subject to removal from program. • School absences excused by the front office are automatically excused by the program.

  4. AM Late Arrivals • If your student checks in the program after 7am we need a Late Arrival form.

  5. After School Program • Students grouped by grade level • About 20 students per group • M-F program provides snack • M-Th 90 minute homework time • Friday enrichment clubs

  6. After School Schedule • 2:33-2:50 Check-in • 2:50-3:20 Snack • 3:20-4:50 Homework/Academic Support • 4:50-5:15 Physical Activity • 5:15-6:00 Computer Lab/ipads/other enrichment • Pick-up starts at 5:35

After School Attendance • Program Hours: 2:33 PM to 6:00 PM • Attendance is required every school day. • Students must attend 3 hours every day. • Earliest pick up time is 5:35 PM • Inconsistent attendance or too many early pick-ups can result in removal from the program. • An adult over 18 has to sign out student everyday in room 304. • Keep an updated authorization list on file. • School absences excused by the front office are automatically excused by the program.

  8. Important Notes • Students must be picked up before 6:00pm (after 3 late pick ups students are subject to removal from program). • Parent must sign own name and write time on sign out sheet. • Students must scan their own card out (no parents or siblings)--this is for accuracy and safety. • Please stay by the classroom until you have your student. • Please supervise any other children out of respect for learning environment.

  9. PM Early Release Form • If you pick up your student before 6:00 PM on a regular basis, we need an Early Release form on file. • If you pick up before your early release time we need a single day Early Release form. • Parallel program early releases are handled on a case by case basis.

  10. Snacks • Everyday students receive “Supper snacks” • Example items: -sandwich, chicken nuggets, pizza (protein) -crackers (grain) -fruits, veggies, fruit juice -milk, cheese, yogurt • If you choose to supplement with your own snacks, please only send healthy snacks • Please do not send sugary snacks or chips (these foods do not help students get through homework).

  11. Homework • 30 minutes silent reading (less for 1st and 2nd grades) • 1 hour supervised/assisted home work and academic support. • Parents are still responsible for checking their student’s homework. • We will sign reading log, but please look over it and talk with your students about what they read. • Communication is key. Please let us know immediately if there are any homework issues. • Please be sure that weekly homework packets return with student everyday.

  12. Homework Behavior Expectations • The main purpose of this program is homework assistance and academic support. • Students are expected to follow homework rules and expectations set by Grizzly Den staff.

  13. Program Behavior Expectations (AM and PM) • Be respectful/use respectful language towards students and staff • Keep hands and feet to self • Be respectful of program materials. • Be kind to others • Follow staff directions and cooperate with staff

  14. Positive Behavior • Weekly citizenship award (one student from each group recognized for program citizenship focus) • Grizzly Dollars (awarded to students for any positive behavior or good citizenship) • Friday Grizzly Store (students can purchase prizes with Grizzly Dollars)

  15. Orange Behavior Slips • Minor behavior issues • Redirections/consequences handled in program • Multiple orange behavior slips will lead to a white slip • Orange behavior slips will be sent home but do not require a signature

  16. White Behavior slips • A white slip will be given after several orange slips for the same behavior. • A white slip will be given for serious offences such as name calling, putting hands on other students, foul language. • Parent signatures are required to keep a record of the communication. • After 3 white slips, students are subject to removal from the program.

  17. Cell phones and I-pods • School rules apply-- students are not allowed to have them out or use them. • If you need to get a hold of your student, please call us. • Please do not allow students to bring toys or other personal items from home
