Help! • Read the whole passage carefully including the title and anything in italics as questions might be asked on these. • This is self explanatory but the answers to all the questions are found in the passage! • All questions are DIRECTED QUESTIONS, this means that they direct you to a specific section of the passage. Read them carefully! • You can look back to the passage at any time. • Attempt all the questions, don’t leave any blanks. • Always check the amount of marks on offer for each question. Write an answer of appropriate length.

Answering the questions There are a variety of types of questions you will be asked to answer. • Read the question carefully • What is it asking you to do? • Do you have to put a tick next to a statement that you believe is true? • Do you have to write down an expression from the passage? • Do you have to find evidence that agrees or disagrees with a statement that has been made? • Does it ask you to identify the meaning of a word?

  4. If you have any problems ask your teacher. But remember, they can not give you the answer.
