About the play • Dr. Rajkumar starred in this cult movie in 1982 • Story of a man and his heroics to uplift a girl in distress • Movie & our play is based on Vani’s classic novel • Our play is a healthy mix of the movie & the novel • The idea of the play is to create new generation of audiences for Kannada theatre • We believe that Theatre is the oldest medium of “entertainment” & Hosabelaku aims to do just that

Venue – Kala Soudha • Just 6 Kms from MG Road its located in posh Basavangudi area inside the Ramanjaneya Temple Annex • The auditorium has 300 seating capacity and has centralised AC. • It also hosts facilities like in-house lighting, cat walk, balcony seating & handicap access (three level access), spaces for book store, café and a 2300 sq. ft. art gallery space. • With ample parking around the Ramanjaneya Temple of this auditorium hosts a 200 KVA Generator for uninterrupted performance experience. • Aesthetic website at www.khkalasoudha.org

Director – P D Sathish Chandra • This is Sathish's Fifth production under Fourth Corner banner. • He started his amateur theatre journey began in 1993 and has been active in Theatre, TV & Movies as an actor, director, producer and writer • He also has extensive media & project management experience & his last salaried was as Programming Director Karanataka for 93.5 RedFM • After a three year break from Theatre he aims to get back to his roots with a vengence • He currently runs Kala Soudha as its director and aims to run the place to encourage new talents to bring out performances which are fresh and unique. • He is now acting as Paddu in PandurangaVittala a Kannada sitcom on Zee Kannada. He still is known for his theatre columns for newspapers and with special reference to Sunday reviews at Times of India.

  6. Play plan • Auditions on September 18, 2010 • Rehearsals from September 21, 2010 • First run thru on October 27, 2010 • First three shows to coincide with Kannada Rajyotsava (on October 30, 31 & November 1, 2010) • 27 Repeat shows planned at Kala Soudha before end of December, 2011

Play planning • Publicity channels – Advertisements, PR, DM’s, Web based (online contest winner to get a holiday abroad) & Road shows • Tie-ups with media partners, Radio Mirchi & Buzzintown.com already in place • Pre event promotion drives • Contests • Publicity tie-ups with hangouts in both cities (Coffee Days etc.)

Brochure partners • We would be coming out with a special A5 sized brochure for all the 30 shows of Hosabelaku in various locations of Karnataka & India. • We plan to print 300 copies per show to cover media, audiences, celebrities, corporates & sponsors • Cost of advertising in this is as follows

  12. Costing • Total sponsorship cost for the first three shows in Bangalore – Rs One Lakh • Breakup: Venue - 15 thousand Professional Fees - 10 thousand Marketing budgets - 15 thousand Artist s/ tech Fees - 40 thousand Production costs - 20 thousand
