Her father is a computer programmer and her mother works in a factory and they earn only enough to live day by day. Silviana is a very smart child and both her parents are very grateful to the Mercy Children Centre for their input into their daughter’s life.

Reyhan’s father and grandmother work so they had little time for him. They felt they needed to send him to Mercy so he could receive an education and a better life.

We don’t know why but he was very afraid of lights and the flashes from the camera. He has shown tremendous progression and is no longer afraid of the camera. Though he is shy, Aberaldis proving to be a very intelligent child. .

She had a very shy and withdrawn nature because when she was still in Semarang, she almost never had the opportunity to socialize. She is now showing remarkable progress because of the Children centre’s efforts to help her. Geovanny now easily interacts with her peers and talks quite a lot. .

But praise the Lord, Avan is now starting to behave and present a good nature towards the people around him. Some parents have brought their own children to the Center because they can see how much Avan has changed. .

His father works as a sales agent and his mother is the homemaker. Chevalleryo attends elementary school but also joins with the Children Centre. He has begun to show a more grateful attitude towards his parents and teachers. .

Her grandmother continued to faithfully drive her to the centre for every activity and Sundays. Rama is now talking and playing with her friends and joining in with the activities. She has even been brave enough to appear alone on several occasions at the children’s centre. .

Raeais now showing improvements with his attitude and is becoming more open to those around him. .

Arjun enjoys attending the centre and has been showing improvement since he first began. .

She is a clever, energetic and cheerful young girl. Her grandmother raised her in a happy environment which gave her a fun childhood. Since her grandmother works, Anisa attends the children centre at Kaliwesi. .

Rama is now beginning to interact and slowly progressing forwards, he even was brave enough to have his photo taken. He now wishes to learn about computers. .

Having been able to attend the Children Centre, her parents are very happy and grateful she has an appropriate place to study and interact with her friends and peers. .

Agustais able to do as he wishes because his grandmother is very old and often falls sick. Sometimes they don’t come to the center because his grandmother is unable to take him or he just doesn’t want to go. To this day we are still reaching out to him to help him have a better opportunity of life. .

Her father is a peasant tenant for the Forestry Department and her mother is the homemaker. Natasya and her sister joined the Children Centre when it first began. Natasya is gifted in the area of sports, arts and culture but due to lack of discipline and attention from their parents, both girls tended to be rebellious. Their parents are very thankful to the Children home because the girls have started to improve their attitudes and after attending additional lessons their studies have improved. .

Her father works as a driver and her mother is the homemaker. The value of education was not so important to her parents. After Safira started attending the Children School, her academic skills started to improve and we have been receiving good reports from her teachers for her attitude and learning. .

Unfortunately, Maulida tends to have a bad attitude and rise up at her mother, causing her mum to often come to Mercy being sad and upset with her daughter. Praise the Lord because now Malida is starting to show positive changes. .

Her father is a carpenter and her mother works as a maid. Nadia is a clever and deft young girl and she diligently takes part in any of the activities held at Mercy. Nadia is particularly talented with hand skills and batik (color dying and textiles) and sometimes she teaches her skills at Children Center. .

She lives with her grandmother and her 2 siblings. Meta’s family moved from Kaliwesi away from us all and she had to be self reliant. She learnt to share her study time and care for her mother who was blind in both eyes. Every weekend she would come back to Kaliwesi with her younger sister and attend the Children Centre activities. They especially enjoy the dancing activities. .

His parents are married but his father lives and works at NTT, so he rarely sees his father. Hendanta shows interest in the value of academic gain which is good but he is quite lazy, shy and rarely joins in with the activities we conduct. This limits us and other children from getting to know and answer the needs of him personally. .

She was rarely allowed to interact with her surrounding environment and the family had a tendency to keep to themselves. Gabriella is spoiled and finds it hard to get along with her peers. She was one of the children in the initial recruitment and she now shows some progress in her attitude. .

His father remarried and was difficult to live with so he went to live with his grandfather. Gigih’s academic skills are good but he is shy and has no self confidence. Since he has started attending the Children Centre, he is beginning to gain self confidence and improving overall. .

Yohan loves sports, especially soccer in which he is quite talented. He wants to become a professional soccer player. His parents were very grateful that Yohan joined the Mercy Children Centre, as they had not been able to pay school fees because of the poverty they lived in. They are very happy he can now learn and attend school properly. Yohan’s academic skills have improved since he first joined Mercy with the help of textbooks and the persistence of the teachers. .

When she was young, her father left the family and married another woman. Atrik's mother is still relatively young and they often moved around, they are currently living in a small shop. Atrik wasn’t able to continue school but because of the Mercy of God, she was able to join the Children Centre. She is now in Senior School and progressing well. .

She grew up to have the appearance of a boy because of her tom-boy like behavior. She had more guy friends then female and had a difficult relationship with her parents. At our Independence camp on the 2nd-3rd of January, she said she had never received a compliment from her parents her whole life and resulted with a bitter attitude towards them. By the end of the session, she had forgiven her parents and promised to try harder to have a relationship with them. .

His mother has been married 3 times and his siblings are from other fathers. His mother is now a widow as her last husband passed away. Aditya’s nickname in school is ‘swordsman wushu’ because he competes in the national Wu ShuCampionships. Aditya is proud to be a part of the Children Centre as he has grown in his personality and even joined the team. He has become one of the treasurers at the Children Centre and has become like an older brother and role model to the children. .

Her father works as a freelance gum maker owned by PTP who earns a minimum wage. Nabita struggled when she first started attending the Children Centre but her academic skills have been improving since. .

Her parents are not married and her mother is currently pregnant with another baby. Anisa’s father works as an illegal gum searcher and if caught, he could be faced with a fine or jail sentence. The distance between her home and the Children Centre is approximately 13kms but the passion Anisa has for attending the Centre and the support she receives from her parents has made her able to regularly attend the Children Centre. .

Though her home is approximately 8km away from the Mercy Children Centre, she regularly attends the activities with a passionate spirit. .
