  2. JAMS Mission The Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS) is devoted to the study and improvement of marketing and serving as a vital link between scholarly research and practice by publishing research-based articles in the substantive domain of marketing.

Some Tips on Publishing • Focus on new and interesting issues • Pay attention to the literature • Get feedback • Take care in your writing • Pay attention to the reviewers’ and editor’s comments • If given a chance to revise, do so (sooner) • Build on rejection • Become a part of the review process

What Is Not Interesting: How to Avoid Publication • Work on The Obvious • Venue Driven Research • Examples: studies of old phenomena in new settings such as a specific industry, international, internet context • Just Adding One More New Variable • Replications • Offer an Exercise in Data Fitting • usually not interesting no matter how sophisticated the model • Offer Descriptive and Purely Exploratory Work
