You should have

You Should Have

  • TI-83 in LabPro harness with short connector cable attached

  • Power adapter connected to LabPro and plugged into outlet (it may beep at you)

  • Vernier motion detector with cable plugged into port labeled DIG/SONIC 1 on right hand side of LabPro


Setting up the lab pro

Setting up the Lab-Pro:

  • Turn on calculator - on button lower left on calculator

  • You may have to hit <clear> or <enter> button to clear out screen, leaving a blinking cursor

  • Push <apps> button ( 2nd column 3rd row)

  • Scroll down with down arrow button till you see :DataMate then

  • Push enter button (lower right) and wait

(#.## should read a number – this is your distance measurement)


Using the lab pro

  • Unit may signal “Checking Sensors” before it shows the correct sensor and screen.

  • Press clear to reset (just below arrow keys) and wait for screen to reappear.

  • Unit is now measuring distance continuously.


Using the lab pro

Done?

  • When you’re done, hit the <6> key to quit, then hit <enter>. You should be back at the blank screen with blinking cursor.


Change probes

Change Probes

  • Quit the program per the last slide

  • Disconnect the ultrasonic cable from the unit.

  • Connect the temperature probe on the opposite side of the unit

  • Get back into apps / Datamate per slide 3

  • Let unit cycle while it figures out which probe it has

  • If successful, temp. is now shown.
