  2. Central Park este un parc urban public, amplasat pe o suprafaţă de 341 ha în districtul metropolitan al New York-ului. Are formă dreptunghiulară cu dimensiunile de 4000m x 800 m. Este de două ori mai mare decât statul Monaco şi de aproape 8 ori mai mare decât statul Vatican. Cu circa 25 milioane de vizitatori anual este celmai vizitat parc din SUA. Deşi parcul Fairmount din Philadelphia este de 10 ori mai mare, Central Park are de 10 mai mulţi vizitatori. Apărând în numeroase filme şi emisiuni de televiziune, a devenit unul dintre cele mai faimoase parcuri din lume. Este administrat de firma privată Central Park Conser-vancy, pe baza unui contract cu Departamentul de Parcuri şi Timp Liber al metropolei.
