  2. Plot. • The plot of the book SLAM! By Walter Dean Myers is about a 17 year boy, his athletic ability is outstanding but his grades isn't so hot. He runs into some drama with girls and close friends but he over comes it. He tries to do better but he just cant get a break he. Meanwhile his basketball team is doing outstanding on the court and they might even go all the way to the big tournament.

  3. Point of view. • The point of view to this book is 1st person.

  4. Conflict. • The conflict in this novel would be he cant get his grades up. And his close (friend) Mtisha thinks there friend ice is dealing because he gets all kinds of fancy stuff.

  5. Main Characters. • Greg “SLAM” Harris- The main Character of the book. • Ice- Slams life long buddy • Mtisha- His “friend” • Ducky- Boy on basketball team • Mr. Tate- Teacher at Latimere • Jimmy- Boy on the basketball team • Nick- Boy on the basketball team • Derek- Slams brother • Kicky- One of Mtisha Friends.

  6. Characters. • Karen- Girl that slam is doing a filming project with. • Goldy- A coach on the Latimere basketball team • Coach Nipper- Coach of the Latimere basketball team. Literary Devices- Audio Book.

  7. Positives. • I like the way the story was set up. • I like the way the characters were put in the story. • The setting of the story is perfect it fits the story's description. • All the conflicts had a good resolution.

  8. Negatives. • They made it to the tournament and they didn’t tell us if they won against carver or not.

  9. I would recommend this book to Young African Americans.
