Innovations in teachers training • Most of the teachers’ training through Cluster Resource Centres • These Centres being strengthened to initiate need-based training programs • Use of video CDs during regular teacher training programs • Teachers training linked with improving student’s achievement level • Private B.Ed. College staff also getting training for improving classroom practices

  3. Innovations in teachers training • Use of cafeteria approach in selective training – as per need and interest of teachers • All the new training areas are also being incorporated in regular pre-service programs for mainstreaming- eg. Active Learning/ Jeewan Vidya/ Sports in education • Education Leadership Programs for Principals and Head Masters through IIM & APF • Perspective plan for teachers training

Innovations in Research • SCERT acting as nodal for facilitating Third party evaluation of different schemes – eg MDM, MGML, ECCE, Bicycle for girls etc. • Support the administration in taking policy level decisions through different studies – eg. Continuation of MGML • Organizing shodhyatras through DIET students to have closer linkages between schools & DIET & know field realities • Regular students achievement surveys by SCERT

Innovations in material development • Self-Learning Materials for teachers based on different aspects of RTE ready for print • Materials in different Tribal Langauages • District-specific tribal lessons incorporated in regular text-books • Regular students achievement surveys by SCERT • Children’s Magazine- Bachpan/. Balmitra & teachers’ magazine- “Hamara Sankalp” • E-magazine ready for sharing with teachers

Innovations in the use of ICT • Multi-media lessons based on Hard sports being developed • Developing web-portal for education to provide all information in one place and reduce non-teaching tasks • On-line counseling/ attendance of B.Ed. Students • PET,PMT, Pre-B.Ed. Entrance & other coaching through Edusat

  7. Innovations through state budget • Proposals for innovations from external agencies • Coaching classes for improving science/ math • Scholarships for promotion of science & math • Improving classroom teaching in English

  8. Innovations in community participation • Use of local festivals in School Improvement • Plantation for MDM support • Jan pahal for seeking community partnerships • Community blackboards • Donation of land for improving resources • Flip chart developed for orientation of RTE

Workplace innovations • CUG & group emails for better connectivity among staff • Staff development through regular exposure visits • Internal Review Missions for assessment • ADEPTS standards for DIETs developed • Capacity building on different areas as per requirement like report writing, English, computers etc. on reimbursement basis
