  2. Persisting • How do I approach a project & follow through to its completion? • How do I cope with frustration? • How do I know when to ask for help & what is the most effective way to ask? • How inventive am I when challenged by something difficult? • Do I take risks & push myself?

  3. Communicating With Clarity & Precision • How can I make myself understood through my words (spoken or written) & actions? • What logical, rhetorical or artistic tools are required to assure clarity? • Have I demonstrated good craftsmanship? • Have I demonstrated understanding? • Have I conveyed my message?

  4. Managing Impulsivity • Being mindful of who you are & how you have an impact on others. • Thinking before you speak or act. • Listening to others & wait your turn. • Treating others with fairness & respect.

  5. Listening With Understanding & Empathy • Being aware of other points of view. • Respecting & honoring all points of view. • Being willing to evolve your own point of view.

  6. Intellectual Curiosity • Asking questions of yourself & the material: • How do we know what is true & what is false? • Could it have been otherwise? • What if? • So what? • What is my passion & how do I use it in my work? • How can I extend or play with what is given to me? • What further questions could I pursue?

  7. Making Connections • Is there a pattern? • Have we seen something like this before? • What are the possible consequences? • What can I draw from my own personal experience? • What else does this work connect to?

  8. Now write… • Would you say that this Habit of Mind is one of your strengths? Something you’d like to work on? Can you give an example of a time when you successfully adopted this habit?
