  2. Design Concepts • Static Rack - No moving parts - 4-Cell design -  Sturdy, simple construction -  Bolted connections for easy disassembly -  Some welding required

  3. Design Concepts • Dynamic Rack - Moving Parts - More involved construction - Bolted and welded connections - Damper mechanism

  4. Design Direction • Static Design -  Cheaper to construct - Negligible maintenance - Easy to repair - Safer - Approximately the same spool capacity as the Dynamic Rack

  5. Design Conditions • Increase Accessibility • Increase Capacity • Reduce exposure to the elements

  6. Connections • Both welded and bolted connections • End plate to distribute loads applied to HSS Column • I-beams are bolted for easy assembly and disassembly
