SASEPOL Progress 02 (reports) • Trainings Plan approved; • Report on PSC submitted, under revision; • Communication and Visibility Plan submitted; • First Report on PWM, submitted; • Under way: • Report on Institutional Assessment of Maritime Administrations; • Report on ISPS Assessment; • Report on Compliance with International Conventions; In association with Ramboll, Milieu & Tethys

Progress 03 (trainings) • Trainings implementation started in May 2010; • Trainings conducted to date: • Oil Spill Preparedness, Response and Cooperation (Baku 12-14 May and Odessa 17-19 May); • IMO Conventions / VIMSAS (Odessa, 6 – 10 September); • SOLAS 74 (Baku, 13-17 September); • MARAD, institutional best practice (Astana, 22 – 24 September). Progress 04 (RWG/NWG) • Kick off meeting of National Coordinators in Kiev, 13 - 14 July 2010; • Meetings of National Working Groups: • NWG Azerbaijan: 17 September 2010; • NWG Georgia: was planned 18 September 2010 (delayed); • NWG Kazakhstan: 21 September 2010; • NWG Turkmenistan: between 04 and 08 October 2010; • NWG Ukraine: 11 March and 10 September 2010; • ToR for (national and regional) working groups finalized; • Regional Action Plan under development; In association with Ramboll, Milieu & Tethys

  8. Cross cutting issues • Improved relationship with indirect beneficiaries; • Established contact with BSC and CASPECO; • External communication improved; • Internal coordination much improved, but still room for more efficiencies; In association with Ramboll, Milieu & Tethys

  9. Problematic issues • Visas issues for both, for experts going to jurisdictions and for nationals of (some) beneficiaries to travel abroad; • Trainings Plan very ambitious; might need to be relaxed; • Coordination of project implementation, avoiding overlaps with other events/projects; • Timing, SASEPOL ends July 2011.
