2010 World Population and Housing Census Programme

The 2010 World Census Programme aims to facilitate and support countries in conducting population and housing censuses, disseminating census results, and providing guidelines and technical materials. The programme also includes a resource center for information on census activities and best practices. Supported by the World Bank, it focuses on monitoring country progress, developing guidelines, and assisting countries in implementing the census according to international principles and recommendations.

  2. 2010 World Census Programme • The United Nations Statistical Commission approved in March 2005 the initiation of the 2010 World Programme on Population and Housing Censuses covering the period 2005 to 2014. • The three essential goals are: • to agree on a set of acceptable international principles and recommendations governing the conduct of a census; • to facilitate countries in conducting censuses during the period 2005-2014; and • to assist countries in their efforts to disseminate census results in a timely manner Workshop on Census Cartography and Management - October 2007
