The Work Programme • UK Government’s flagship welfare to work programme - single programme to replace complex network of provision. • Pan Wales contract delivered by Rehab Jobfit and Working Links and their network of subcontractors • 2 years on Programme + IWS Period • Combined client groups - (JSA & ESA) • Designed to offer tailored personalised support • Payments by results

  4. Traineeships... • Unemployed young people 16-18 • Engagement (to decide occupational focus) or • Level 1 training option (QCF Level 1, overcoming barriers, placements/voluntary work etc or • level 2 training option (employment-ready link to employers)

  5. Steps-to-employment • Adults not in employment • Work focussed training (placements or alternative up to six months, levels 1, 2 or 3) or • Route-ways to work (job ready linked to employers, max 8 weeks training)

  6. Other useful info • Commissioned via work-based learning framework • Use of training allowances • Existing good practice of working with housing and support sector (As you’ll see today...)

  7. Jobs Growth Wales... • Job creation through 6 month paid work experience opportunities • Targeting growth businesses • Integrated with other DfES programmes • Private sector, voluntary sector, public sector, graduate and self employment elements.
