  2. Summer11 • Summer11 production is winding down • Few new samples accepted, with the exception of samples that must be regenerated due to new MC requirements from physics coordination • If you use private MC samples for your analysis, you may need yours regenerated centrally!

  3. Summer11 • We still have many analyses that have private MC to be checked by generators group, we are preparing requests for review • Requirements: • All configs published in CVS • Samples published in DBS • Configs must not have any obvious problems

  4. Summer11 • We are redoing a number of samples centrally, and waiting on others to be checked • Samples to be redone so far: • B_c signal samples (with events generated in LHE format): Currently uploading LHE files to EOS storage area at CERN, will submit samples for production as soon as this is done • Exclusive Lambda_b0 samples for lifetime measurement: Preparing all materials for these submissions • Signal and inclusive samples for exotic quarkonium states measurement: Should be able to submit inclusive samples soon with higher statistics

  5. Summer11 • We do have some analyses with private MC ready to be checked for inconsistencies: • Heavy baryons analysis • D0 to MuMu • LambdaB polarization • B to K* mu mu • Bs to JPsi Phi

  6. Summer11 • PileUp issue: At the moment, it’s unlikely that we will have any samples produced with early 2011 pileup in 4_2_X, since 2012 production has already begun • Can analyses be carried out only with late 2011 pileup (In 4_4_X)? Perhaps we need more approved private MC.

  7. Summer12 • Summer12 8 TeV Monte Carlo production is underway • Preparation and submission of requests is ongoing • If you need Monte Carlo for 2012 data, please let us know! The sooner requests go in, the faster they will be produced • Use this HN thread for requests: https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/CMS/get/bphysics/908.html • Bulk of production resources is now dedicated to 2012 MC production • Summer12 samples will use Z2* UE tune by default

  8. Summer12 Sample Lists • Please look at these lists to see if any of these samples are useful for your analysis • Summer12 BPH production is much larger than Summer11 due to a much larger number of central samples

  9. Inclusive JPsiX samples These samples have been submitted for GEN step Number of events are after filters and acceptance and correspond to ~5 fb-1

  10. Quarkonium samples Switched from using default tune (Z2*) to D6T for all of these samples; Recalculating filter efficiencies and will then submit these

  11. BsToMuMu samples • Bs2MuMu signal and background samples will be submitted as soon as we have a new 5_0_0 patch release (to bring in needed GEN filter and .dec files)
