  2. First things first 1. Sign attendance sheet. 2. Place name tent on CPU 3. Open class wiki at www.ci513a.wikispaces.com 4. Review class fall term CI513 checklist for all work you should post to your personal wiki. 5. Download docs and PPT for tonight’s class 6. Working break – take five minutes as needed.

  3. Tonight’s agenda 1. Determine learning outcomes for the lesson you are developing 2. Consider differentiated learning and accommodations for students 3. Consider ideas to support student self-direction 4. Develop a teacher instructional support doc for each lesson; use technology where appropriate 5. Prepare appropriate student activities for the lesson you are creating. Include a formative assessment.

  4. Learning outcomes 1. Identify unit goals and content standard(s) your lesson will address. 2. Determine learning outcomes/objectives for this individual lesson. 3. Complete a lesson plan draft making sure to include all elements of the lesson planning guide.

  5. Differentiation& considerations 1. Plan for lesson considerations including • Activities that address different learning styles • Special placement students • Talented and Gifted student • Second language students • Handicapped students 2. Review TheDifferentiatedClassroom by Carol Ann Tomlinson for tips and suggestions.

  6. Artifacts for your lesson For your individual unit of instruction AND the group project, do this: 1. Create one teacher instructional document you will use as part of your direct instruction. Identify the lesson for this teaching artifact 2. Develop a student artifact/activity that supports lelarning outcome, is engaging, supports critical learning or knowledge, and includes formative assessment as a check for understanding and to indicate next steps of instruction 3. Integrate technology that enhances learning and is appropriate to your lesson. HINT: Review PSU work sample CD.

  7. Next time (11/24) . . . 1. Consider MISL technology options for lessons. Complete class activity sheet 2. Plan for seamless technology integration for lessons--teacher instructional pieces and student activities. 3. Continue work on integrated unit and lesson plans. Pair share draft lesson plan. 4. Consider GTEP rubrics and revise lessons as needed. 5. Review checklist and update/add documents as needed.
