Compare & Contrast Compare: two or more texts means to explain how they are similar. Today we will be focusing on contrasting! Contrast:texts means to explain how they are different A reader maycompare and contrast texts within and across genres.
Genres Genre refers to categories of texts, such as informational texts-including essays, historical documents, and articles-and literatureincluding fiction, poetry, and drama. BUT Genremay also refer to categories of mediasuch as film, fine art, and music.
