  2. South America is a continentsituated in the Southern Hemisphere. On the continent there was home of many species.South America offers all the types of landscapes.

  3. Amazon River Amazon River is situated in Brazil and brings to ocean waters from one sixth of all the land around the world. River is 7,062 km long. There live more than 3,300 species of fish.

  4. The upper reaches of the Amazon River about 3 km wide. In the middle reaches of the Amazon River is wide 5 to 10 km. The mouth of this river is 300 km wide.

  5. Amazon Rainforest The early 20th century was the Amazon rainforest over the area of 5,000,000 km2. During 30 years 10 percent of the Amazon Rainforest lost. There grow over 4,000 species of trees, 120,000 species of flowering plants and live 1,600 species of birds.

Vegetation is divided into several tree layers: 1st layer: Herbs – they grow to about one meter. 2nd layer: Small trees - they grow to about ten meters. 3rd layer: Big trees - they grow to about forty meters. 4th layer: Giant trees - grow individually and grow to seventy meters. Amazon rainforest is home of the largest snake in the world.

  7. LakeTiticaca Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America with an area of 8,288 km2. Lake lies at an altitude of 3,812 meters above sea level. Titicaca is located in the territory of Peru.

  8. Waterfall Angel Waterfall is 979 meters high and it is the highest waterfall in the world. Waterfalls from the plateau with an area of 770 km2, which falls up to 7,000 mm of rainfall per year.

  9. Spectacled Bear The only South American bear. Spectacled Bear can climb very well palms.

  10. Capybara The largest rodent in the world. It weighs only 80 kg. Capybara spends most of his life in the water.

  11. South American soup In South America there are so many fantastic soups.In Brazil there is favourite soup called Caldo Verde,with its origin in Portugal.

  12. Typical Venezuelan food is fish and shellfish which both have a very high quality. One of the most significant foods in Venezuela is the Arepas, which is a kind of bread. This unique dish is made of corn flour, water and salt.

  13. Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro The statue is 39.6 meters tall and it weighs 1,145 tons. It is the work of French sculptor Maximilien Paul Landowský.Statue of Christ is one of the seven wonders of the world.
