Through elections and politics, the country is showing a trend toward morality. • Railroads and Big Business Booms: Who is running the monopolies? • Child Labor: Getting Worse Before it Gets Better • Organized Labor Grows • New Inventors and their Inventions • Women’s Suffrage: Know Your Rights • Immigration: A New Urban Culture Develops

  4. Next, we are going to watch a clip of the upcoming events we will study. This time period is know as the PROGRESSIVE ERA. It gets its name because it was a major time of reform in our country. As you will see from this chapter, a lot of new developments are occurring which will bring forth a need for change. **As you watch the video, note the important business men and other significant changes.
