  2. News • Welcome to Ulla Tihinen. Ulla has been working in the ALICE secretariat • Please note the special opening hours during the transition period • SFT :  Monday & Tuesday full days + Thursday & Friday afternoons • ALICE:  Wednesday full day + Thursday & Friday mornings • Ulla can assist remotely (email) when the SFT secretariat is closed • Summer students • So far 1 request • Validation of elastic scattering models of Geant4 for LHC (Vladimir I.) • Deadline is tomorrow

More News • SFT Library • 4 new books related to parallel programming • Please register them with Ulla, so they can be announced to the group • ITSR • meeting foreseen for this week cancelled due to lack of agenda items • this is a chance for us to flag issues requiring attention of IT so please use it • ACAT 2013 • Reminder: the abstract deadline is February 15th • CHEP 2013 • Payment of registration fee is managed centrally • Subsistence has been fixed at 300 CHF/day CERN-wide • Deadline is June 12thto get our list of approved participants
