  3. The Routeway Model • Contact in the community, IAG support, pre-employment preparation, occupationally specific Routeway, Job interview guarantees identified through employer engagement. Underpinning tracking database • Sectors - Retail, Construction, Hospitality, Food and Drink manufacturing, Business and Contact Centres, Health and Care • Funding – ESF, JCP, WNF, MAA sub regional investment programme, mainstream

  4. The Job Seeker Journey Engagement with work via JCP, MACs, etc. Advisor support to reach ‘Job Ready’ stage Sector-specific pre-employment training e.g. Retail Works, Care First Routeway etc Guaranteed interviews, or work experience Obtains job – continues to develop skills

  5. 3 - Linking with Employers • Employer engagement and assessing / reporting on employer demand and feedback • Employer engagement strategy for E&S Board - all employers, with focus on SMEs • Co-ordinating employer & job / skills brokerage activity • Brokerage of interviews, jobs, apprenticeships & training • Inter-agency co-operation, sharing intelligence & opps. • Informing RW development • Balancing supply with demand • Volunteering • 4 - Supporting & Developing the Workforce • Focus on in-work support, retention, training and workforce development, to secure sustainable job outcomes & raise skill levels • Shaping & co-ordinating provision & funding • Post-employment support • In-work training – levels 2-FD • Apprenticeships & Train 2 Gain • Higher-level skills • Monitoring outcomes • Co-ordinating processes • Encourage investment in skills MAA and Employment and Skills • Employment and Skills Board • Reporting to the MAA Co-ordination group and Leadership Group • Sets high levels strategy and priorities for a co-ordinated sub-regional employment and skills plan • Owns priority employment and skills outcomes in the sub regional economic strategy • Holds to account agencies responsible for delivering employment and skills plan • Ensures interventions respond effectively to employer demand • Encourages strategic alignment of resources and plans amongst key agencies and with regard to national and regional strategies • Contributes to the annual economic assessment • Executive Group • Reporting to the Employment and Skills Board. • Key commissioning agencies. • Generates commissioning plans for priority outcomes • Reports on performance, progress chases delivery agencies • Receives and reports information on significant interventions (e.g. Future Jobs, Fit for Work etc, Routeways, MACs, SRIP) • Co-ordinating intervention at all levels incl. Routeways • Informing & directing the activity of the sub-groups • Co-ordination of the client journey and employer engagement • Sharing details on funding streams & initiatives • Input from ESB and sectoral leads re. national / local & sector issues • 1 - Engaging people and overcoming barriers • Focus for engaging people particularly those hard to reach. JCP, MACs, Connexions, IAG providers, LEBC, Business Builder • Engaging & supporting priority groups with targeted IAG • Identifying barriers • Promoting learning & work in key sectors • Pre-Routeway skills • Job ready & sector assessment • Routeway referral processes • Data capture & management • Brand Fit / Job Matching / Labour Market Info • 2 - Pre-Employment Skills • Developing and reviewing skills interventions. Negotiating / proving appropriate with employers. FE/HE & other training providers / NAS. funding agencies, referral agents • Co-ordinating the provision of pre-employment & vocational learning • Sector Routeway development • Employer-led solutions, review of labour market intelligence • Referral & data capture • Funding options • Graduate retention • SME links
