  2. House Hunting Trip • AFI 36-3003 • Commander may approve up to 10 days permissive TDY if taken before PCSing to Whiteman AFB. • Commander may approve up to 8 days permissive TDY if taken after arrival (report date) to Whiteman AFB. • NO MONETARY ENTITLEMENT FOR THIS TRIP

Travel Entitlement • JFTR Chapter 5 Part B & C • Member and dependents are entitled to one day of per diem for travel day to Whiteman AFB. • $109.00 for member • $81.75 for each dependent 12+ • $54.50 for each dependent under 12 • Member authorized 2 POV’s, if used. • $.20 per mile for each automobile.

Temporary Lodging Expense • JFTR Chapter 5 Part H • Up to 10 days • Can be split between old and new duty location • U5715  TEMPORARY QUARTERS • Temporary quarters for the member/dependent(s): • 1.  Must be a temporary residence; and • 2.  Must be in the vicinity of the old and/or new PDS/designated place; and • 3.  May be allowed if assigned family-type Government quarters are not occupied because: • a.  HHG have not been shipped from the old PDS; or • b.  HHG have not been received at the new PDS; or • c.  Government quarters are undergoing repair/renovation; or • d.  HHG have been packed, picked up and/or shipped from the losing PDS; or • e.  For similar reasons. • NOTE: Lodging receipts are required.  When member/dependent(s) stay with friends/relatives, lodging cost is not authorized but the TLE meal portion is payable.

  6. Household Good Shipment • JFTR Chapter 5 Part D • Must schedule with TMO at Scott AFB. • TMO will set up HHG shipment with contract carrier. • DITY move may be done – still must attend briefing with TMO at Scott AFB. • Incentive is 95% of cost had government moved HHG for amount of weight shipped NTE authorized limit. • Failure to get briefing will result in actual expense reimbursement, not incentive.

  7. HHG Cont’d • DITY Move Cont’d • Must have receipts for any expense related to DITY move for reduction of taxable income. • Must weigh vehicle empty and full at same scale. • Receipts required: gas, rental vehicle, weight tickets, supplies for packing, etc.

Miscellaneous Information • No entitlement for selling or buying house. • Must stay within Whiteman area of responsibility when purchasing home or pay excess cost of shipping HHG. • All entitlements are non-taxable except for DITY move. • Mobile Home Transportation authorized. • No entitlement to HHG if Mobile Home transported.
