  3. Project Focus • Topic – Higher Level Topic (ex. Project 1 – Hybrid Storage) • Focus Questions • Question 1 • Question 2 • Any hypotheses? • LFS will fare poorly with hybrid disks

  4. Plans / Development / Work • List what you intend to build / work on for the project • Build a discrete event simulator in Java • Model 3 drives on the market today • Model LFS, FFS, RAID

  5. Evaluation - Equipment • Where / how will you accomplish your research? • Build it on desktops on our desks • Use Eclipse / Github • Do not need special equipment / software

  6. Evaluation - Metrics • What are a few performance metrics? • No idea • MTTF – Mean Time to Failure • Throughput

  7. Questions • Any questions for discussion at the meeting with Prof. Striegel
