  3. Our Purpose • Provide a comprehensive & integrated behavioral health HIV/AIDS and Delinquency prevention program • Reach at least 75 At-Risk Latinas a year • Provide Mentorship and Guidance • Provide Groups, Activities, and Events

  7. Chicas at a Glance • 9-month Core Prevention Education Intervention • 3 group sessions @ each school site • 1 monthly event • 6-month Supplement Services • 1 group session @ OCBF • 1 monthly event

  10. National Evaluation Office on Women’s Health National Survey • Baseline • 9 month Post-Test (Exit) • 6 month Post-Test (Supplemental) • 12 month Post-Test *120 questions addressing all 5 Curriculum Core Areas

  11. Local Evaluation • Local Evaluation will additionally assess acculturation, cultural factors, and gender roles in order to obtain enriched outcome data.

  12. Outcomes • Two Key findings : 1. HIV knowledge was significantly improved at the end of the intervention. 2. At program completion, participants were less likely to engage in gang related negative activities and were less likely to become gang members.
