  2. SciDAC File Format • Supports metadata and binary data • Supports lattice fields and “global” data • Tries to anticipate ILDG needs • Open software QIO/LIME • In production use by LHPC

  3. LIME Packaging • MIME >> DIME >> LIME • Very simple. Allows 2^64 bytes • File consists of messages • Message consists of records • Record consists of a header and data • Header includes a content type label

  4. SciDAC Gauge Configuration File • Private file header • User file XML (not standardized, yet) • Private record header • User record XML (not standardized) • Binary data in NERSC 3x3 format • SciDAC Checksum

  5. ILDG Compatibility • Propose LIME packaging • Could add ILDG format metadata • Could add QCDML • Could add BinX record • Can do propagators or other fields
