(2008) Research Summary: Our group works at the intersection of physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. We use a multidisciplinary approach to explore questions of fundamental interest to human health and renewable energy. The ongoing projects in the group include: 1) The synthesis and purification of graphenenanoribbons with rationally designed and programmable electronic properties. 2) The synthesis of DNA-templated organic electronic nanowires for applications in efficient organic photovoltaics and electrical biosensors. 3) The construction of biomimetic cyanobacterial hydrogen production systems at nanostructured surfaces. 4) The development of carbon nanotube-based biosensors for the early stage detection of pancreatic cancer. 5) The fabrication and self-assembly of protein thin films for biologically-inspired cloaking devices • Key Publications: • H.
