Conway’s Classroom Connection What’s Happening Reminders • Monday, December 2: • Tuesday, December 3: • Wednesday, December 4: • - Mid-terms go home • Thursday, December 5: • Friday, December 6: • DOL Quiz • Word Work Quiz • Science Quiz Reading – We will be reading a Christmas novel, entitled A Season of Gifts, by Richard Peck. Look for assignments to come home daily. Also, Ms. Conway will be reading A Dog Named Christmas, by Greg Kincaid, to students. Language-Word Work boxes will be assigned Monday and Tuesday. There will be a quiz on Friday. Students will begin learning about research writing. Math– Prior to our fraction unit, we will be covering least common multiples, greatest common factors, and prime and composite numbers. Science – Birds and mammals will be the topics of discussion this week in science. There will be a quiz on Friday. Social Studies – Our Native American unit wraps up with discussions regarding clothing, famous Native Americans, artifacts, and villages. Warrior Way Lesson This week’s Warrior Way lesson focuses on figuring out feelings. Students will learn how to recognize the triggers that other students might use to cause them to react without thinking. We will discuss ways of dealing with such feelings as frustration, irritation, and annoyance.
