They need to agree on one major thing: number singular (one) or plural (more than one). The number of the noun (singular or plural) determines the form of the verb, since verbs must agree with their nouns.

  5. Suggestions for the Teacher Require that the students have (and use) current copies of Diana Hacker’s A Writer’s Reference for individual or less frequent writing issues. Have them bring it to class on a regular basis. Have the students work as teams (or in pairs) for revision. If you Google the grammar issue + “games” you can find many online exercises that you can work through and check as a class.
