  1. President Nixon resigns after he was linked to an “attempted burglary” on the Democratic National Committee in the Watergate office complex in Washington.

  2. This extremely controversial case legalized abortion before the fetus becomes viable. It also decided that after the point of viability, abortion must be available for a woman, if continuing her pregnancy is harmful to her own health.
