  1. Russia and the Near Abroad Maps Locate and place all the terms from the wordlist on the maps. Make sure you place political features on the political map and the physical features on the physical map. Use blue or black ink Color the countries on the political map. When you are done with the maps, you will fill out two SPRITES sheets; one for Russia and one for a “Near Abroad” country (you may pick which one).

  3. 12/5 Assignment • Read “The Empire of the Russians” in textbook. • Take ten bullet notes on the section. • When finished with bullets read the case study “Ethnic Unrest in Northern Eurasia.” • Answer the questions at the end of the case study on a separate sheet of paper; same sheet as the bullet notes. Homework: Take notes on the sections mentioned on the graphic organizers.

  7. Russia and the Near Abroad Read the yellow boxes on the pages 164, 166, 168-169. What are the problems in the Chechnya and Georgia region, as explained on pages 164 and 166. Create a comparison chart between the different regions mentioned in chapters 7-8. Homework: What is happening in the Chechnya and Georgia region today? What is their relations with Russia?
